About our 5 Bar Gates
Our 5 Bar Gates are supplied pressure treated. This will enhance the style and help protect the timber from insect infestation, fungal decay and rot. However, as timber faces various weather conditions, it can fade over time. If this occurs, consider re-staining to enhance the product’s appearance.
The Shropshire Joinery Company, a long-established business known for producing high-quality products at competitive prices, crafts our 5 Bar Gates. Made from quality softwood, the gate includes stainless steel fixings and traditional mortice and tenon joints.
Please select whether you require left or right-handed 5 bar gates, or a matching set if you are purchasing two. To determine the handing of a gate, view it from the good side. Remember that all gate sizes are in metric units, and the imperial measurements are also given as an approximate guide.
Please Note: Tanalised pressure treated timber has a built-in colouration and depending on the timber species the treatment colour may vary slightly.
Log Selection
When creating products from natural resources, careful selection is key. We hand-pick all raw materials also, choosing the best sections of logs for each component. In the “green mill,” we saw the logs into rectangular shapes, which also leaves rough surfaces because the saturation. If necessary, we season the wood by removing moisture and then machine it for smooth or shaped finishes.
We stock a variety of fittings for our Field & Ranch Gates. You can find them under
Gates & Fittings.
