Our Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs are an excellent choice for wood-burners, multi-fuel stoves, chimineas, or traditional open fires.

Benefits:

  • Ready to burn
  • Powerful heat performance
  • Easy to light
  • Low smoke emissions
  • Ideal for wood-burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves, chimineas, and open fires

Kiln Dried Firewood vs. Freshly Cut Firewood:

Kiln dried firewood is much more efficient due to its low moisture content, under 20%, compared to freshly cut wood, which can exceed 60%. Drier wood produces more heat, making kiln dried logs far more effective for heating a room. Additionally, kiln dried logs generate five times less smoke than freshly felled wood, making them a safer choice.

Hardwood vs. Softwood Logs:

While softwood is easier to ignite, hardwood logs are denser, keeping fires burning longer. For best results, use dried kindling to start the fire, then add 1-2 hardwood logs based on the size of the room or fire.

Wood Burning Safety:

Burning wet wood can cause tar build-up in flues and chimneys, increasing the risk of a chimney fire. Regular chimney maintenance is essential, regardless of the type of wood burned. The HETAS website recommends sweeping chimneys at least twice a year when burning wood or house coal, and at least once when burning smokeless fuels. It’s best to sweep just before the heating season and after long periods of disuse.
